Livestock Polytunnels
JF McKenna supply a range of livestock polytunnels, including sheep polytunnels and calf polytunnels. As a farmer, it is important to select in a high quality shelter for your livestock.
A sheep polytunnel provides natural ventilation and protection from weather and predators. JF McKenna’s polytunnels are especially useful during the lambing season, when they can help reduce lambing losses.
We use large diameter high tensile galvanised steel tubes made to Z35 specification for our hoops and bracing. Our gable end frames, doors and base rails are made from tanalith pressure treated timbers. JFM Polytunnels are some of the strongest and durable available in Ireland.
These livestock polytunnels can also be used for other purposes, such as storing food, hay and farm equipment. For detailed information about spacing regulations - see DEFRA’s Code of Recommendations for the welfare of livestock.

Calf
Polytunnels
Our specially designed calf polytunnels provide the perfect environment for raising young calves, ensuring both protection and superior ventilation from birth.
Calf housing polytunnels have become essential for farmers, offering benefits that improve animal welfare and overall farm efficiency. Their use has led to healthier livestock and increased profitability over time.
By creating a stable and secure space, these structures help minimize stress in calves, leading to better feed conversion and improved weight gain. This contributes to higher survival rates by reducing losses caused by harsh weather conditions.
Strategically placed roof vents allow warm air to escape, ensuring a well-ventilated interior. The addition of a canopy and side gutters prevents moisture buildup, keeping bedding dry and comfortable for the calves.
